Visa on Arrival in the UAE
The United Arab Emirates provides visa-on-arrival facilities for citizens of specific countries, enabling them to enter without applying for a visa in advance. The length of stay permitted varies based on the traveler’s nationality.
30-Day Visa on Arrival
Travelers from eligible countries can obtain a 30-day visa on arrival in the UAE. This visa comes with a 10-day grace period, offering the option to extend the stay if needed. It is ideal for short-term visits such as tourism, business, or transit. Passport holders from Andorra, Australia, Brunei, Canada, China, Hong Kong (China), Japan, Kazakhstan, Macau (China), Malaysia, Mauritius, Monaco, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, San Marino, Singapore, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, and Vatican City do not need to arrange a visa in advance.
90-Day Visa on Arrival
If you hold a passport from any of the countries or territories listed below, you will receive a multiple-entry visit visa on arrival, valid for 90 days within a six-month period from the date of issue. Moreover, citizens of the specified European countries may apply for a pre-arranged visit visa once they have used their full 90-day stay on the visa issued upon arrival.

180-Day Visa on Arrival
If you have a Mexican passport, you will receive a multiple-entry visit visa on arrival, allowing a stay of up to 180 days. This visa remains valid for six months from the date of issuance.
Special Provisions for Indian Citizens
Indian citizens with a regular passport can obtain a visa on arrival in the UAE for up to 14 days if they also hold one of the following documents, valid for at least six months from their arrival date:
- A valid US visit visa
- A valid US green card
- A valid US green card
- A valid EU residence visa

- Passport Validity: The applicant’s passport must be authentic and valid for a minimum of six months.

Tourist Visas:

- Duration: Typically valid for short periods, such as 30 or 90 days, and extensions are only possible if applied for.
- Sponsorship: Can be obtained without a local sponsor, usually via hotels, airlines, or travel agencies.
Transit Visas:
- Purpose: For travelers passing through UAE airports with a short stay of less than 48 or 96 hours.
- Duration: Extremely short-term, meant for flight layovers.

Overstay Fines
The UAE’s Immigration and Citizenship Authority (ICP) has set uniform penalties for visa overstays: AED 50 per day is charged for staying beyond the expiry of a visit, tourist, or residence visa, starting from the 11th day after the visa has expired.
UAE Residence Visa
The UAE provides several types of residence visas designed to suit the different requirements of its expatriates. These visas allow holders to live, and in certain cases work, in the UAE for durations ranging from one to ten years, depending on the specific visa category.

Remote Work Visa – Residence Visa for Working Outside the UAE
This visa allows individuals employed by companies outside the UAE to live in the UAE while working remotely. It is valid for one year and can be renewed.
Retirement Visa – Residence Visa for Retirees
Available to retirees aged 55 and above who meet financial requirements, such as owning property worth AED 1 million, having savings of at least AED 1 million, or earning a monthly income of AED 20,000 or more. The visa is valid for five years and renewable.
Student Visa (Residence for Study in UAE)
Issued by educational institutions for the length of the academic program. Available to students enrolled in full-time courses, sometimes permitting part-time work or internships depending on visa conditions.
Family Visa (Residence for Dependents in UAE)
Allows UAE residents with valid residency permits to sponsor family members, such as spouses and children. The sponsor must fulfill specific salary and housing requirements to qualify.
